How Much Does Mercari Take?
Mercari takes 10% of the item price plus any shipping the buyer paid — one flat fee, nothing else on a normal sale. The tables below run that arithmetic at common prices. "You receive" is your payout before your own costs (the item itself, and the shipping label if you offered free shipping).
If the buyer pays no shipping (free shipping)
| Item price | Mercari fee (10%) | You receive |
|---|---|---|
| $10 | $1.00 | $9.00 |
| $25 | $2.50 | $22.50 |
| $50 | $5.00 | $45.00 |
| $100 | $10.00 | $90.00 |
| $250 | $25.00 | $225.00 |
If the buyer pays $6 shipping
The fee is charged on the shipping too, so the same item pays a slightly larger fee — but you also collect the $6. What changes is the fee, not the structure:
| Item price | Fee base (price + $6) | Mercari fee (10%) | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| $25 | $31.00 | $3.10 | $27.90 |
| $50 | $56.00 | $5.60 | $50.40 |
| $100 | $106.00 | $10.60 | $95.40 |
The buyer's 3.6% Buyer Protection fee is not in these tables — it is charged to the buyer on top and never comes out of your payout. Mercari fees explained covers who pays what, and why.
Your exact numbers
For any other price or shipping amount, use the Mercari fee calculator — it also subtracts your item cost if you enter it. Working backwards from a payout target instead? The price solver finds the price that leaves you the amount you want. And if you sell the same items on eBay, Mercari vs eBay fees shows what the identical sales would leave you there.
